Omnibus Directive - obligation to transparently inform about prices in the online store
The Omnibus Directive is European in scope and requires the owner of an online store to inform customers of the lowest price of the browsed product that occurred within 30 days back or within 30 days back of the promotional price of the product.
The regulations apply to sellers, i.e. businesses that are party to the contract with the consumer and are therefore responsible for the price of the goods sold.
The messages displayed by the module have been translated in languages:
- English
- Polish
- Italian
- Spanish
- French
- German
The module automatically detects where your store displays product prices and displays relevant information next to the prices.
You can rely on the automation of displaying messages or paste {Smart-Tag} yourself anywhere in the .tpl files of the product page, product list, shopping carts and other places in the store where you want to inform about price changes according to the Omnibus directive.
How to present Omnibus prices?
- Only an interactive icon with a message when you point to the icon
- Only interactive message
- Icon + message
Interactive icon
Icons (in ultra-small SVG format) correspond to an increase, decrease, no price change or first price (new product) recently.
When you hover over or touch the icon, a message about the lowest price of the products or about the lack of price changes appears.
Interactive message
Information about the lowest price of the product in the sequence or about no price change. You can, for example, display the icon always at the product price, and the full message only when the product is on promotion.
Price history in product edition
The prices archived by the module are available in all currencies. You can edit the saved price history in the product edition, which will prove useful if you make a mistake while creating a promotion or manually editing prices.
PrestaShop Multistore
You can configure the module globally for all stores or independently for each Multistore. Multistore support for this module is an additional fee.
Message content
In the module configuration you can edit messages in all languages enabled in your store. You can use {Smart-Tags} in the message.
Appearance of icons and messages
You can freely modify the appearance of icons and messages by editing the .tpl and .css files of the module.
Product reviews according to the Omnibus directive
Check out the PrestaShop Opinions module, which automates the collection of in-store reviews in accordance with the Omnibus directive. The module allows you to attach images to your product reviews, and the customer can receive points in the loyalty program for the reviews.
