Redundant logs and statistics in the PrestaShop database
Your store writes a lot of information to the database about what happens on the server and in the store. This information is generated all the time. You can use some of the data on an ongoing basis, such as tracking errors, 404s, analyzing abandoned shopping carts or admin login history.
PrestaShop in its default configuration logs into the database information about, among other things:
- Visitors to your online store
- Store admins' movements
- Abandoned shopping carts
When the number of visitors is low, the amount of statistics logged in the database is not noticeable. When the store traffic starts to count in hundreds or thousands of users, the database starts to grow at a significant rate.
A large PrestaShop database uses more server resources such as RAM and CPU. Searching a huge database takes more time. This results in slow loading of the online store and server errors such as error 500.
Keeping logs in the database for more than 6 months will not bring tangible benefits.
Useful life of logs and statistics
Set a data age that if it expires, the logs and statistics you indicate will be deleted from the database. You don't have to delete everything. You can optimize only selected data.
We recommend setting 30-180 days.
Sources of visitor and customer visits.
Note: You should collect sources of visits in analytical tools. The transfer of data, for example, to Google Analytics should be done in real time. Analytical tools integrated with your store will allow you to analyze and plan UX and marketing activities.
Information about actions performed in the admin panel by store employees
Information about unknown pages
Statistics of pages that users visited, but were not found (404), e.g. by a misspelled link or lack of redirection
Abandoned shopping carts
The module will remove abandoned shopping carts from which an order has not been created.
Clear when you need to
You can optimize any type of data manually. The module will give you the statistics of the data ready for deletion before performing the operation.
The module will generate a unique CRON link that will automatically optimize the database according to your configuration.

PrestaShow modules use license
You can find the full content of the license on this page. We have described the operation of the license handling system on this page. Below is a summary of the most important information:
Domain and additional domainsYou can assign the module after purchase to 1 store = 1 domain. You can use the module in the domain without time limits. You can add a test/developer store domain to each domain for free. Support for domains in PrestaShop Multistore requires the purchase of multistore support for the module.
Changing the domain
Changing the domain is possible. For this purpose, please contact us.
Code modificationThe module code related to the integration with the store and the appearance (.tpl, .css) is open source and you can modify it freely. The module source is encrypted with ionCube.
