In this post, you will learn how to put up a developer, test or security copy of your online store on PrestaShop 1.6, 1.7 and 8.x on your own in 10 steps. A store copy gives you control over changes before they reach your customers, you can modify it without worrying about the functioning of the production store....
Agile and lightweight module will streamline your management of the development version of the store. Hide your store from search engines, password-protect access to your store, and streamline your source code workflow.
Simple and quick configuration of the module will allow you to secure your developer store in less than a minute or effectively disconnect any store from customer and Google visibility.
Access to PrestaShop store only after login
In PrestaShop you can secure your store with a technical break and access only from specified IP addresses. This method is not convenient if you have variable IPs or you want to grant access to new users.
Enable password protection of access to your PrestaShop store. The user, in order to see the store, will have to enter the login and password you set in the module configuration. The security will manifest itself as a browser prompt asking for a password.
noindex and nofollow - duplication protection
Add noindex and nofollow tags to all your store pages. This will prevent Google robots from indexing your store, thus avoiding duplicate content, for example.
Avoid redirects to the homepage
PrestaShop redirects traffic to your store's main domain by default. You can disable this redirection, which will improve the work of developers in the store, for example, when you launch a store outside the store's domain.
Display hook details in the site code
Enable the display of hook details in the store code. With this option you will find out from which hook and module the given code fragment in the page source comes.
