What are canonical links in PrestaShop?
Canonical links in PrestaShop are HTML tags that indicate to search engines which version of a page is preferred to avoid duplicate content problems. When the same content is available under different URLs (e.g. with different filters), a canonical link allows search engines to treat one version as the main one, thus improving the SEO quality of the store.
In PrestaShop, canonical links are automatically added to product and category pages, but you can also adjust them manually if necessary.
The module is designed in accordance with Google's documentation and good practices.
The PrestaShow Canonical URLs module will allow you to indicate the preferred versions of pages to be considered by search engines. Search engines don't have to index the same content under different URLs, allowing them to focus their resources on unique pages.
- rel="canonical" - indicates the canonical page and eliminates duplicate content.
- rel="alternate" - optional link leading to the mobile version.
The module also supports the canonical reference for all pages in the pagination, such as: 2-page-header?page=2.

Modifying the module code
