Our History... We made our first PrestaShop module 20 years ago

We did not plan to make modules

In PrestaShow we took our first steps with websites in 2004. There were two of us - a programmer and a graphic designer. Often, after school or in our free time, we did programming work: small scripts, portals and programs. We studied and read books about programming. We learned about graphic applications, HTML, CSS, JS and even a little PHP.

In 2008, during a university fieldwork class in Bialowieza, we received an email with our first order for an online store. The world of eCommerce and how online sales work. We didn't yet know that the Internet would reinvent commerce. Intuition told us to specialize in store design, although there were no orders for stores at all.

We started learning several store engines, of which there is no trace left today. We combined graphic designs with Adobe Photoshop into templates, and modified the store to meet customer requirements. We implemented the first project for six months. It came out quite well and before we knew it we had another client.

We followed the principle that nothing is impossible, and the ability to implement a need is only limited by time. We became fond of eCommerce, but had not yet considered designing modules....

PrestaShow in 2012

We wanted a business card personalized for eCommerce. In 2012, we started working on our first PrestaShow site periodically. The first offering focused on implementations and software support for stores.

We even created one module, allowing to place graphic banners in different areas of the store. This module is still with us today and is used by several hundred stores.

The technology was centered around PHP, HTML and CSS and JavaScript was not breeding to the top technology as it is today. Templates didn't challenge us - more and more web developers were doing great with templates.

In modules, we noticed a growing demand for ready-made solutions and the opportunity to enter "this industry".The market was also seeing competition.

In 2014, we launched prestashow.co.uk

We offered a few simple modules. Each module sold made us immensely happy and allowed us to establish relationships with online stores. We didn't look back. We had our ideas and we were confident.

2018

Our store had more than a dozen modules and we decided to open up to the world. We focused on developing the backend to maintain the modules and providing support for our customers. We introduced:

  • Convenient update system
  • A system for managing licenses and new versions of modules

We launched new payments in the store in PLN, EUR, GBP and USD currencies. In the meantime, we brought the mobile version up to scratch and launched social media: Facebook and Instagram.

We standardized the code in English, and translated the front end and the administration part of the modules into Polish and English.

2019

In 2019, we released globally unique modules that allow 2-way integration: import and export of data to the online store. We've been building these two solutions since 2012, but it wasn't until 2019 that they became affordable enough for a novice store owner to start integrating their store with external tools and product providers.

We released a module for lossless eCommerce analytics working on Google API(PShowConversion) and several modules to help manage the SEO value of the store, which are still very popular today :-)

Google Integrator is today the best-selling module from our offer and is chosen by stores all over Europe.

All our solutions were and still are unique - unique on a global scale. Setting standards and expanding possibilities has become our strongest point.

We have developed a new category of modules that allow you to interact with your customers: the Affiliate Program and Loyalty Program modules have allowed Polish entrepreneurs to implement solutions in their online stores previously available only to eCommerce market leaders with million-dollar development budgets.

2021

We already know more or less what we are doing and how we need to measure its effects. We find ourselves in the topics and needs of the eCommerce market. Our team consists of specialists spread all over the country.

You can find 35 professional modules for PrestaShop-based online stores.

The methodology of communication and remote work, which we have developed over the past decade, allows us to take on the most difficult tasks, and our clients to develop skills in running a business remotely.

We invest in technology - we release more than 30 updates and new versions of modules every month. Each module develops in proportion to the demand of the market, i.e. our customers.

For convenient after-sales communication, we provide HelpDesk connected to the store and systems: module updates 1-Click Update and Auto-Backup .

For agencies and freelancers, we launcheda Partner Program, with which our partners implement modules with our premium support and at preferred prices.

What's next.

Dreams are the spark that materializes the world around us. We have ideas that we implement with commitment. Ecommerce is an innovation and a great adventure for us.

The added value we can bring to this market makes us happy and drives us to action.

In the coming time, we want to surprise you with tools with which you will be able to introduce processes to eCommerce on your own, as well as entire industries that have not had much to do with an online store so far.

The prestashow.co.uk website in 2022. We are changing all the time

How about ... a convenient Cross-sell and Upsell - the kind with a real one, known from the biggest sales portals. How about a module for local in-house delivery? Or a multi-warehouse management of products managed directly from PrestaShop?

Since 2020, a small team has been working on PrestaShop integration with stationary stores and the restaurant and food industry. We will liberate restaurateurs by providing them with an ultra-professional and friendly tool to manage their online food sales.
